Domain Dynamics wins major investment for commercialisation of its voice-activated solutions and other signal processing applications

Keywords: Voice recognition, Biometrics

Domain Dynamics Holdings Ltd has received a £3 million cash investment to accelerate the rapid global commercialisation of its effective, reliable and compact voice authentication and word recognition solutions for handheld devices and smart cards. The Company will also extend the delivery of its resource-saving, condition monitoring solutions for seemingly intractable problems across a wide-range of industries.

Through the successful application of its patented TESPAR technology, Domain Dynamics offers the tools for a new generation of handheld communication products using voice as the main command and control interface. With the ability to port its technology efficiently onto 8, 16 and 32 bit microprocessors, the Company can equip mobile phones, PDAs, smart cards, and a wide range of remote control devices with reliable voice authentication and word recognition solutions.

"This £3 million cash investment will be used to develop both business-to-business and consumer-oriented applications with third party solutions providers to supply voice biometric and recognition solutions for a new generation of handheld devices and smart cards. It will also be used to expand the development of signal processing applications in industrial condition monitoring," said Dr. Fredrik Verkroost, a successful business and management accelerator who was appointed as CEO of Domain Dynamics Holdings Ltd in May 2001. "Using its extremely powerful and proven TESPAR technology, Domain Dynamics will rapidly set new benchmarks of compactness, efficiency and reliability for voice-enabled solutions initially covering the markets of mobile phones, PDAs, smart cards, e-commerce, and toys and games - areas which are currently served by inefficient technologies." "The Company has an impressive track record in developing cutting- edge signal processing solutions which have already been proven in over 100 real-world applications. Recent clients have included BP, QinetiQ and GenRad," continued Fredrik Verkroost. "This latest investment comes from a private source and cements the confidence in the Company's ambition to establish new standards of functionality for voice-enabled command and control for third-party products on a global scale."

About Domain Dynamics

Domain Dynamics Ltd, signal processing and speech recognition specialist, provides powerful, low cost and compact solutions for signal processing, event recognition and pattern classification problems. Based near Swindon, the Company is focusing primarily on solutions to applications in noisy or restricted environments such as are encountered in e-commerce, mobile telephony, transportation, condition monitoring, toys and games and in the storage of biometric information on smart cards.

Domain Dynamics holds an extensive patent portfolio for its key technology, TESPAR (Time Encoded Signal Processing and Recognition), with which it has addressed over eighty industry applications in areas including smart cards, intelligent intruder detection systems, machinery condition monitoring, word recognition and voice authentication systems. Rather than manufacturing end products, the Company establishes technology transfer arrangements and licences with a wide range of organisations including BP, QinetiQ (formerly DERA), Consult Hyperion, Rotadata and GenRad.

TESPAR technology is highly economic in its use of power, memory and processing. It therefore works extremely well in hostile and restricted environments such as battery- operated equipment and other miniaturised devices.
