The Sensing and Control Business of Honeywell has introduced the HIH-3610 Series Humidity Sensor, which delivers fast instrumentation-quality RH (relative humidity) sensing performance in a cost-effective, solderable SIP (single-in-line package) (see Plate 4). Chemically resistant multi-layered construction provides product longevity in harsh environments.

Plate 4 The new HIH-3610 Series Humidity Sensor from Honeywell offers fast instrumentation-quality RH sensing performance in a chemically resistant construction

Direct input to a controller or other device is made possible by the sensor's linear voltage output. With a typical current draw of only 200µA, at 5Vdc the HIH-3610 sensor is ideally suited for low-drain, battery-operated systems. Tight sensor interchangeability reduces or eliminates OEM production calibration costs.

Typical applications include weather stations, environmental test chambers, moisture leak detection, instrumentation and test equipment, HVAC, medical devices, recorders, industrial controls and office equipment.

The RH sensor is a laser-trimmed, thermoset polymer capacitive sensing element with on-chip integrated signal conditioning. Stable, low-drift performance provides high accuracy over the life and use of the product. Two lead spacing configurations are available. Operating temperature range is –40 to +85°C.
