New ultrasonic sensor with TEACH-mode programming

New ultrasonic sensor with TEACH-mode programming

Keywords: Ultrasonic, Sensors

MTE Turck introduces the new Banner U-GAGE™ T30 Series of easy to use ultrasonic sensors, ideal for demanding environments (see Plate 1). They are perfect for applications such as sensing liquid levels or determining box heights for sorting purposes, where simple push button programming provides flexibility.

The U-GAGE T30 is available in two sensing ranges: 200mm to 1.0m and 300mm to 2.0m. All models offer a discrete output (NPN or PNP) and a linear 4 to 20mA or 0 to 10v dc sourcing analogue output. The discrete output is rated at 100mA. Analogue output resolution is 0.25 percent of sensing distance. Analogue linearity is 0.5 percent of the full scale sensing range and the discrete output repeatability is 0.25 percent of the sensing distance.

Supply can be 12 to 24v dc and connection via a 2 or 5m cable or a 5-pin QD connector. The operating temperature range is from -20 to +70°C and the casing is IP67 rated.

U-GAGE T30s are fully teachable for discrete window limits, analogue window limits and the slope of the analogue output. Programming can be either via the sealed membrane push buttons on the rear panel or by remote wire (using one conductor of the sensor's cable).

Four rear panel LEDs indicate Power On, Signal Strength, Output Conducting, and TEACH mode status.

The Banner U-GAGE T30 is half the size of other 30mm ultrasonic sensors. This and its very attractive price will make it an ideal choice for position sensing applications in the OEM market.
