Thames Side-Maywood Ltd has completed the acquisition of Veccer. Formerly local rivals in the specialist load cell market, both companies are based in Reading. The deal combines Thames Side's manufacturing quality and Maywood's specialist engineering skills with Veccer's expertise in custom load cell design.

To ensure continuity of service to Veccer's current customer base, Veccer staff will be fully integrated with the existing Thames Side-Maywood workforce and managing director Richard Virgoe will be joining the Thames Side-Maywood board. The enlarged company will continue to manufacture the Veccer product range. All customers will benefit from the fast, precise and cost-effective calibration service offered by Veccer's NAMAS approved test laboratory for load cell force calibration (Plate 3).

Thames Side-Maywood's premises are currently undergoing redevelopment and expansion to accommodate all company operations.
