Their well laid out website gives company information, an overview of their technical personnel, introduction to their areas of application and data sheets for their patented sensors.

Kodak's San Diego Laboratories designs and fabricates some of the world's most sensitive, small size, non-cryogenic magnetic field sensors (magnetometers). The site gives an overview of the laboratory's major research and technology interests, though for any detailed information they invite the interested to contact them directly.

Sensor Solutions manufactures non-contact magnetic sensors for the industrial, automotive and commercial markets, specialising in difficult application areas. Their site offers a good introduction to the various magnetic sensor technologies that they sell, in addition to peripheral equipment. There is plenty of applications information that might prove useful beyond the specification of their own products, in addition to the more usual company contact information.

Bartington Instruments is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high precision, low field, magnetic measuring instruments. The Oxfordshire based company manufactures a range including single and three axis fluxgate magnetometers, a fluxgate declinometer/inclinometer and magnetic susceptibility systems for use predominantly in geomorphology, geophysics, archaeology and mineral exploration. The site has a lot of product and applications information, including data and drawings of the products. An online catalogue request page is available, in addition to company details and a few links into other sites of interest.

Vector Fields offers a complete range of 2D and 3D electromagnetic simulation and analysis software. The company also offers its users a complete support service, including application advice, software maintenance, training and consultancy. More details are available from the frame-based Web page, though there are no screen shots or demonstrations.

A free access virtual magazine based on the paper version published by Helmers Publishing in the USA. The Website offers a number of facilities at no charge, though free registration is needed on the site to access all areas. The editorial and features of the current issue are available directly on line, as are selected articles of previous issues. All articles dating back to 1984 are indexed at the site and may be ordered from the publishers. The site has an industry news section, a small research resource page and links to advertising companies via the links and the literature pages. A buyer's guide search engine allows the user to search for companies offering particular sensor types, though strangely, doesn't return Web addresses. A virtual, albeit rather small bookshop completes the site, with a number of sensor-related titles listed by author, publisher or title, with the site's own recommended top ten.

The Geomagnetism Group of BGS runs three permanent magnetic observatories in the UK, conducts the UK magnetic survey, and operates magnetometers at sites overseas. In addition to this observational programme, the Group collects, analyses and interprets data from sources worldwide to provide services to customers in science, commerce and industry. Services available, for academic and research users only, include The Geomagnetism Information and Forecast Service (GIFS) and INTERMAGNET, a project promoting the exchange of real-time magnetic observatory data around the world. The site offers a detailed insight into the work on geomagnetism and its applications, and plenty of links into other sites both relevant and of general interest.

Split into the four sections of magnetic sensors, pressure sensors, high temperature and aerospace electronics, the SSEC's Website offers an overview of the company's interests and capabilities. Technical data is a little sparse, though the magnetic sensor information gives general performance parameters for the product range. Market applications are illustrated with features and benefits of the technologies on offer, and there is a search engine available on the site, in addition to a news page and links into a handful of other sites.

NUMAR of Pennsylvania, designs, manufactures and markets a patented, proprietary device, the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Logging (MRIL®) tool, which applies magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology to evaluate subsurface rock formations in newly drilled oil and gas wells. It measures certain properties of subsurface formations that currently cannot be measured with conventional well logging tools, and provides information that can enhance the interpretation of conventional log data. The Website describes the company's organisation, history and development of the MRIL tool, financial position, branches, partners and employment opportunities.
