Kistler's new CoMo II-S control monitor type 5859A brings industry towards zero defect production. Simultaneously capturing two measurements, the CoMo II-S can represent either one as a function of time or one against the other. Production processes can then be controlled and monitored through freely definable analytical functions, e.g. thresholds, boxes, end position, tolerance band, etc. (see Plate 4).

Although measuring up to 1,500 cycles per minute, the CoMo II-S takes only two or three cycles to calculate the appropriate range and automatically selects the best scale for the axes. From the average value, the CoMo II-S checks whether all processes measured are within the specified tolerance. Manufacturing can then commence once this is attained, ensuring that any imperfect parts are recognised and rejected through continuous monitoring.

The CoMo II-S can be used for the control and monitoring of any production process as it contains charge and voltage amplifiers. Therefore, piezoelectric sensors (force, pressure and acceleration) and potentiometric sensors (displacement and angle) can be connected.
