Vacancy for a new editor for Business Strategy Series

A vacancy has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic editor for the international practitioner title, Business Strategy Series, published by Emerald (www.emeraldinsight.com).

The journal

Previously known as the Handbook of Business Strategy, Business Strategy Series (www.emeraldinsight.com/bss.htm) provides busy managers with a comprehensive series of executive briefings on a whole range of issues central to all cutting-edge corporate strategies. This journal brings together the strategic thought leaders behind many of the world's leading corporations including senior executives, top-flight consultants and business school gurus. The journal is a subscription-based publication which comprises 6 issues a year published both in print and online. Business Strategy Series is a hands-on journal that aims to explore winning trends and provide busy managers with implementable, sustainable strategies. With an emphasis upon practical application, Business Strategy Series contains articles by thought leaders covering key issues that management professionals face every day. The journal's readership consists of management practitioners at a senior level, as well as academic researchers. Business Strategy Series is one of Emerald's most widely consulted journals, with more than 3,000 online article downloads on average each month.

The role

This is a great opportunity for a subject expert to contribute directly to the development strategy of a popular practitioner journal.

The journal editor is responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining a network of contacts to act as a source of papers for the journal

  • Meeting the journal content aims as agreed with the Publisher

  • Conducting the article review process

  • Meeting the deadlines for delivery of copy to Emerald

  • Maintaining and developing the quality of journal content, in consultation with the Publisher

  • Appointing and reviewing the Editorial Advisory Board, in conjunction with the Publisher

The Publisher will support the work of the Editor in achieving these key objectives.
