  • Ashgate Encyclopedia of Literary and Cinematic Monsters (RR 2014/296). Provides essay-form entries for over 200 imaginary creatures that have featured in literature and film. More detailed and scholarly than many competing titles such as Facts on File’s 1989 publication The Encyclopedia of Monsters, but restricted to a relatively limited number of entries.

  • Encyclopedia of Caribbean Religions (RR 2014/286). The first significant reference source on religions in the Caribbean region. Covers all religions practiced in the region, from Roman Catholicism to beliefs such as voodoo.

  • Encyclopedia of Criminology and Criminal Justice (RR 2014/288). This is another blockbuster Springer publication running to ten volumes in its print version and providing over 600 entries on a wide range of topics. Not to be confused with a Wiley-Blackwell encyclopedia with the same title published in 2014 (review forthcoming Reference Reviews).

  • Encyclopedia of Great Popular Song Recordings (RR 2014/311). Two-volume Scarecrow Press title providing entries for about 1,000 songs, selected by author Steve Sullivan, from all genres of popular music from the late nineteenth century to the present day.

  • iNaturalist (RR 2014/305). Significant Wiki-type resource, begun in 2008 and now maintained under the auspices of the California Academy of Sciences, comprising a growing database of 700,000 observations on plants, animals and other organisms contributed by users worldwide. With the collaborative online Encyclopedia of Life (RR 2014/021), forms one of the major web-based references in the fields of biological sciences/natural history.

  • Palgrave Encyclopedia of Strategic Management (RR 2014/293). Major encyclopedia to provide over 700 entries currently only available online with a print set projected for release in 2015. Provides more specialist and in-depth entries than the many competing reference sources in the field of management and business, such as the two-volume Encyclopedia of Business and Finance (RR 2007/223).

  • Reference Sources for Small and Medium-sized Libraries (RR 2014/283). Eighth edition of this standard guide to reference sources from the American Library Association, replacing the seventh edition of 2009.

  • Research Monitor (RR 2014/294). New product from London-based market intelligence company Euromonitor International providing approximately 5,000 industry and country reports targeted at public, smaller business and college libraries.

  • Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Health, Illness, Behavior and Society (RR 2014/292). Five-volume set offering 600 signed essays that focus on the sociology of health and illness.
