Moving home in later life

Article Type: News and events From: Quality in Ageing and Older Adults, Volume 13, Issue 3

Moving home is known to be one of the most stressful experiences in life but for older people it can be overwhelming and traumatic. Senior Moves is a new company that specialises in assisting older adults and their families with the emotional and physical aspects involved in relocating to a new property and even a new area. The service is available in London and the South East, with plans for expansion to other regions. The service includes assistance with finding a new home; sorting, planning, and preparing for the move; developing a floor plan for the new property; hiring removers; packing and unpacking; resettling in the new home; and arranging for the sale of unneeded items.

One happy client said; “I just couldn’t have made this move without you. My new home looks lovely, and although I will always miss my old house, I know this is where I need to be for the future. Thank you.”

Another added; “Thank you for your support. I really didn’t think we would get my father moved. It is such a relief to know he will be close by.”

The company is fully insured and all staff are CRB checked.
