Richter success at ACHEMA 2012

Attendance at the world’s largest exhibition for process equipment for the chemical industry proved a wise investment for Richter Chemie-Technik GmbH, part of the US-based IDEX Corporation, with positive industry-wide feedback on their complete range of PFA lined, pumps and valves.

Frankfurt’s massive ACHEMA exhibition, although only held every three years, has impressive statistics and is certainly one of the giants of the exhibition world with 11 separate halls of 136,400 m2 of exhibition space. Held from June 18 to 22, the exhibition and accompanying Congress, which included over 900 industry lectures, attracted 167,000 visitors to the 3,773 exhibitors, over 1,000 of which were in the “Pumps, Compressors, Valves & Fittings” Group.

Lutz Rosin, Marketing Executive at Richter Chemie-Technik GmbH, commented, “We have exhibited at ACHEMA for over 40 years but it’s still a massive commitment for all exhibitors requiring our engineers and sales staff to be available for the whole week, in addition to the actual logistics of exhibiting but it’s also a rare opportunity where virtually the whole of the chemical process industry comes together for a week.”

“It was a successful exhibition for us, giving us the opportunity to talk at first hand to our worldwide customers and distributors and to introduce the new range of PFA lined, highly corrosion-resistant magnetic drive and mechanically sealed pumps specifically aimed at medium-duty applications in the process industry. In addition we got various helpful clues what kind of equipment the customers need for their plants and what they expect from Richter in the future. So a very successful exercise for us.”

Colin Simpson, Sales Director at Richter’s UK distributors, Billingham-based Tomlinson Hall Ltd, added, “It’s a huge exhibition but probably the most important one for our industry. The feedback from our and other distributors’ customers was very positive with the new range of medium duty pumps being particularly well received.”

In 2013, Richter will be exhibiting in Beijing at ACHEMASIA, the Asian equivalent of ACHEMA.

EFI Connect 2013 to Sizzle in Las Vegas in January

EFI announced the 14th annual Connect users’ conference will take place early next year from January 15 to 18 at the Wynn Las Vegas. Connect 2013 offers business leaders extensive educational sessions and opportunities to form long-term relationships with industry peers, discuss issues that matter and share business, process and revenue ideas.

To further improve the attendee experience at Connect 2013, EFI will make more experts and employees available next year than ever before with the goal to be able to cover all customer questions that need answers.

With more than 150 class sessions covering MIS/ERP, web-to-print systems, inkjet and label solutions, and Fiery technology, attendees will have access to the latest product training from company experts. They will be able to supplement the classroom learning with keynote speakers and live demos in the lab area, where EFI will highlight its complete portfolio, including fully integrated, end-to-end workflows. And as always, the event will include user group meetings and numerous networking opportunities.

“You learn a lot by talking to other people facing similar challenges, and by talking one-on-one to the EFI system experts,” said Chip Snyder, Purchasing Manager with ColorDynamics in Dallas. “At Connect, you explore the full potential of what the software will do.”

“EFI Connect is the place for customers to explore the latest technology developments and learn how to fully utilize their existing EFI tools, in order to maximize and connect their people, processes and products,” said Frank Mallozzi, Senior Vice President of worldwide sales and marketing at EFI. “We expect the new January date will enable customers to attend that couldn’t make it in the spring time in past years.”

Ipex comes to Brazil

Posted on July 13, 2012 @ 02:16 p.m

BTS, part of Informa Exhibitions, announced the official launch of Ipex Digital Latin America, October 2-5, 2013, Transamerica Expo Center, São Paulo, Brazil.

Ipex Digital Latin America follows on the success of its sister event Ipex, the world’s largest English speaking event for all aspects of the print, publishing and media industries, which takes place in the UK every four years. Ipex recently announced the relocation to London’s ExCeL Centre in 2014, which is set to continue attracting an overall audience of 100,000 global industry professionals, with more than 1,000 exhibitors coming together in 100,000 m2 of floor space.

“We are thrilled that we now have a dedicated digital version of our successful event right here in the heart of São Paulo,” said Trevor Crawford, Director, Print Group. “Our team has been researching this attractive and growing market for some time, consulting with manufacturers, suppliers, printers, associations and customers. From this, it has emerged that there is a clear gap in the market and need for a dedicated event that focuses on the opportunities for commercial printers within digital technology, and the whole print production workflow that supports it.”

Catering to the Americas’ growing commercial digital print market, the inaugural Ipex Digital Latin America event will focus on the advantages of digital technology in commercial printing. It will be complemented by a strong content program with conferences and other learning opportunities on subjects such as trans promo, variable data, applications, direct mail, cross media applications as well as color management and web-to-print technologies.

“Our proposal is to bring specifically to the Latin American market an event that focuses on the benefits that exist within digital technology for commercial printing. This includes the ability to deal with local trends and issues, advantages and case studies demonstrating the complementary nature of commercial digital printing to a national and wider Latino audience,” said William Sgai, Sales Manager of Ipex Digital Latin America. “São Paulo is known as the gateway to good business in the Latin American market. And, besides having an international airport with regular direct flights from all over Latin America, this was one of the reasons why the city was strategically chosen to host the event.”

Eastern Coatings Show scheduled for April 29-May 2, 2013

The first ever Eastern Coatings Show (ECS) will be conducted by The Metropolitan New York Coatings Association (MNYCA), The Philadelphia Society of Coatings Technology (PSCT) and New England Society of Coatings Technology (NESCT) at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The ECS will kick off with an opening reception on Monday April 29, followed by two and a half days of technical presentations and exhibits and an afternoon of activities. The show will end Thursday, May 2 at noon.

“We expect to have over 40 papers presented with two separate tracks for the conference,” said Dave White of Heucotech and Chair of the MNYCA Technical Committee. “Tracks will focus on new technology and emerging market trends in the coatings industry.” Abstracts of presentations and speaker bios can be submitted directly to Dave White at: davewhite@heubachcolor.com

“So far, enthusiastic interest in attending has been expressed by both manufacturers and suppliers,” said Rick Mazzariello, ECS Committee Chairman. “We expect attendees from across the country. This is going to be the first conference like this in the eastern US”.

“The idea for ECS has been percolating for years and the timing seemed right for 2013,” said Bob Whiteley, Conference Committee Member. “We want this to be complementary to the American Coatings Show and other regional industry trade shows.”

According to Mazzariello, “Atlantic City is a great location providing excellent value to both exhibitors and attendees. In addition to the excellent meeting facilities the venue offers many entertainment options.”

“The NESCT is excited to take part in organizing the first ECS,” said Bill Nicolas of The New England Society of Coatings Technology. “In partnering with the MNYCA and the PSCT, we believe this collective event will offer an unprecedented opportunity for furthering the advancement of coatings technology in our combined region by bringing together the best and brightest in eastern US manufacturing with the organizations and professionals whose support and technology help to make our region a leader in the advancement of coatings chemistry.”

Dan Canavan, recreation events Chairman of the ECS and PSCT President said, “In addition to fine dining and entertainment, Atlantic City offers golf, fishing and other activities. We plan to have Wednesday afternoon open to take advantage of these opportunities.”
