Pipe coatings plant slated for Bessemer, Alabama

Liberty Coating Company of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, an applicator of industrial coatings for the oil, gas, and water industries said it is planning to put a pipe coatings plant in Bessemer, Alabama’s Interstate Industrial Park. According to the Associated Press, The Birmingham News reported that Liberty Group of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, said it will invest $5 million in the plant, which will be used to store, process, and coat pipe. The plant is expected to provide 80 jobs. Liberty applies anti-corrosion and protective coatings inside and outside of pipe used by the natural gas, oil, petrochemical, water, and wastewater industries. Don Barder, president of Liberty Coating, says the company also may establish a regional sales and distribution operation at the site.
