LINE-X Corporation’s PAXCON industrial coating offers revolutionary ballistic solution

Article Type: New materials and equipment From: Pigment & Resin Technology, Volume 37, Issue 4

LINE-X Franchise Development Corporation (LINE-X), a nationwide leading provider of protective coatings, announced recently a new addition to its roster of PAXCON force protection coatings, PAXCON PX-2100, a high-performance chemical formulation that protects against spalling and fragmentation during a ballistic attack.

“PX-2100 will allow military contractors additional protection from ballistic spall damage to personnel and equipment,” said Steve Decker, Vice President of PAXCON. “We at LINE-X are very proud of PAXCON PX-2100. It feels good to know that we are providing a product that can prevent additional fatalities.”

Most people are unaware that during a ballistic attack that most severe injuries and a significant amount of lives lost are due to ballistic fragmentation or spalling. PX-2100 solves this problem by encapsulating bullets and other ballistic objects, which will remain in-tact and pose no secondary damage. PX-2100 can be sprayed over any surface hard enough to cause a projectile to spall, such as aluminum, ceramic or steel.

In 2007, PAXCON PX-2100 was certified by H.P. White Laboratory, Inc., one of the oldest and most respected ballistic and research centers in the nation. Moreover, PX-2100 was also selected for anti-spalling protection by Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle manufacturers, the Pentagon’s top military personnel protection initiative.

In 1999, LINE-X was statistically shown to outperform 27 other competitors in a series of tests conducted by the Air Force Research Laboratory that were designed to identify the spray on coating that could mitigate the effects of a bomb blast on a building. In 2000, LINE-X launched the PAXCON division with its blast mitigation product, PX-2350, which has been recognized by the US military and the defense industry for its high levels of protection, and has been approved for protection of the USA. Pentagon, as well as other government, military and private buildings around the globe. For specific results from the H.P. White certification, contact: Steve Decker, Tel.: (301) 862 7717 or e-mail: steve@LineXcorp.com. “At LINE-X, we are continually adding new protective coatings products to our roster to keep up with the demand of our clients and the industries we represent,” continued Decker. “By staying on top of our game, we have been able to provide the guaranteed superior protection our customers have come to expect, which remains one of the many factors that have differentiated us from the competition.”
