Akzo Nobel to acquire Germany’s second largest coatings wholesaler

Akzo Nobel’s decorative coatings business is to acquire Timpe & Mock, the second largest decorative paint wholesaler in Germany. Employing around 400 people in 20 outlets in Northern Germany, Timpe & Mock specializes in supplying the professional trade and paint sector, as well as DIY retail outlets. The company has annual sales of around EUR 125 million. Commenting on the take-over, Rudy van der Meer, Member of Akzo Nobel’s Board of Management responsible for coatings, said: “This acquisition is a major step in our strategy to increase our presence in Germany, the largest coatings market in Europe.”
