Launch of CRONER-i set to simplify health and safety compliance Croner, one of the UK’s leading providers of business information and advice, is launching a new online service to simplify health and safety legal compliance and best practice. It breaks down complex legislation into practical advice to meet the needs of professionals who want to spend less time interpreting red tape and more time doing their job.

Using feedback from an extensive programme of usability testing among health and safety workers, CRONER-i has been designed to offer hands-on advice to reduce the vast amount of time spent understanding legal requirements and implementing policies and procedures to achieve compliance and best practice.

CRONER-i provides instant, action-orientated answers to health and safety questions. Accompanied by downloadable template forms and factsheets it makes daily tasks quicker and simpler. Authored by industry professionals, CRONER-i gives health and safety managers the peace of mind that they have taken sufficient steps to minimise the risk of prosecution.

The interactive format enables information to be found quickly by using either a search function or by browsing a comprehensive list of topics chosen by health and safety workers as the critical areas of their day-to-day role. It is updated daily to provide news on topical issues and developments in the industry, with e-mail alerts of the latest news and legislative developments.

The online information within CRONER-i is complemented by access to Croner’s health and safety helpline, which offers expert advice on everyday issues over the phone.

Lisa Parker, product development manager for CRONER-i, says that during testing of the service health and safety managers say that more than ever, they now require the flexibility of advice at their fingertips due to the ever-changing legal landscape.

She says: “Being a health and safety manager shouldn’t be just a desk job, but keeping up to date with health and safety legislation is complex and time-consuming and can involve wading through reams of technical data. We’ve therefore designed the service to be a one-stop jargon-free reference to information and advice, all at the touch of a button”.

“The product testing revealed the burden on health and safety workers not only of legal compliance, but also keeping records to prove it. The downloadable forms are therefore a key advantage of the service and will free up a lot of time spent at the desk”.

“People today access and use information in different ways and our research confirmed the growing reliance on the Internet as a preferred source. CRONER-i offers the convenience of bringing essential facts together online, while providing the assurance that the information from Croner is accurate, reliable, relevant and up to date”.

Lisa adds: “We’re very excited about CRONER-i, and I’m confident that through our thorough and extensive research and development, we have a product that is unrivalled in terms of its quality, comprehensiveness and usability”.
