Helium pycnometers are simple pieces of analytical equipment that give a quick measurement of the real density of powders and solids

How accurate is the pycnometer you use?

If you ran the same sample twice would it give you the same answer?

Unless yours is running in a temperature controlled lab and it is thermostatically controlled with a recirculating bath, you may not be happy with its performance.

When CE Instruments launched the new Pycnomatic with built in temperature control, the company thought that its main benefit was how accurate it was.

Now, customers have been using them for a few months, the company reports that the comment returned is how rarely they need calibrating and how easy it is to get reproducible values out every time.

Customers are finding that they no longer need to calibrate before every analysis and there is no need to keep repeating the analysis until they get reproducible data saving their time and money, says CE Instruments.
