Barkston launches revolutionary new product

Barkston Ltd, one of the UK's largest and most comprehensive plastics companies, has announced its intention to develop into the production of its own product range with the launch of a selection of plastic modular booths.

The booths are aimed at markets actively involved in chemical decanting, polishing, fabrication, fume control, paint spraying, finishing and anodising; and will look to provide users with work-friendly environments which comply with current health and safety requirements.

Barkston's new modular booths will uniquely be made of polypropylene and PVC – resulting in a product the company believe to be exclusive to them – and offer the same benefits as metal booths such as simple maintenance, flexibility of size and shape and delivery in flat pack, easy to assemble kits. In addition, Barkston's modular booths will offer benefits such as being resistant to acid and chemicals, lightweight, easily repairable and most importantly, non-rusting.

Barkston has traditionally been focussed on warehousing, distribution and the manufacture of plastic goods in line with customer requirements. Following a management buyout earlier this year, the company has embarked on a strategic business development plan, and begun to analyse the existing customer base and services offered with a view to future growth.

The introduction of a new range of products is first for the company and aimed at opening new markets. Steve Rock, Commercial Director at Barkston, said: “This is a step forwards for Barkston and demonstrates our proactive approach to business development. As a company we have felt our own product range would strengthen our market position for some time and we are delighted to have taken positive steps towards this. We have researched the market and have a definite strategy for this product which is why we are confident about the success we can expect to achieve in this new area, and our continued success in existing areas”.
