DyStar awarded damages for patent infringement by Bezema

DyStar, the world's leading supplier of textile dyes, has won a patents infringement case against Bezema AG of Montlingen, Switzerland. The commercial court in St Gallen, Switzerland, ordered Bezema to pay DyStar for damages of around EUR 1 million after it admitted to infringing DyStar's patents on reactive dyes. Bezema can appeal against the court's decision.

DyStar has taken legal action against a number of companies that imitate its products and technologies. It systematically sues companies that infringe its patent rights in order to protect its innovative edge.

As the technological leader in textile dyes, DyStar invests 3-4 percent of sales in research and development every year. Patented products account for about 30 percent of its business. Through its innovations, DyStar helps its customers to raise productivity and meet high quality and ecological standards.
