Hays Colours, together with its paper alliance partner Avecia, announces the launch a new range of reportedly urea-free colorants for the paper industry. According to Hays the Ecozol range of liquid colorants has been jointly developed in partnership with Avecia to provide the industry with a number of significant environmental benefits over traditional products.

The company states that the Ecozol range covers the full shade gamut and, being urea-free, releases less nitrogen into the water system and has lower odour. Ecozol also has a claimed pH that is closer to neutral, further benefiting the environment and resulting in safer handling and reduced hazard labelling.

Ecozol is said to be supplied in a more concentrated form than previously available liquid colorants. This is thought to provide further benefits in terms of reduced packaging, storage space and transportation costs.

Ecozol is described as Hays' offering to the industry in the shape of a highly effective colorant range that puts the environment first. As ISO14001 continues to become more of an issue, the company is sure that this significant development will be well received by all in the industry.

Hays Colours, based in Halifax in the UK, has a history of colorant manufacture dating back over 30 years. An ISO 9001 accredited firm, Hays Colours is a member of ETAD and manufactures and distributes dyes, pigments and auxiliaries world wide.
