The Dow Chemical Company has redesigned its chlorinated organics Web site to enhance the information on products used in solvent and intermediate applications. Now a wealth of new material on these products and their applications has been posted on the newly revised Web site, www.chlorinatedsolvents.com

The products covered in the Web site are used in a wide range of applications, including aerosol product formulation, chemical processing, coatings and adhesives, drycleaning, metal cleaning, pharmaceutical manufacturing, urethane foam blowing and fluorocarbon production. The products include the chlorinated solvents methylene chloride, perchloroethylene and trichloroethylene, as well as methyl chloride, chloroform, vinylidene chloride and derivatives, 1,1,2-trichloroethane, chloroacetyl chloride, carbon tetrachloride and monochloroacctic acid.

The site can also be accessed through Dow's corporate Web site, www.dow.com

When asked about the redesigned site, Linda Shaffer, Dow's marketing manager in the Chlorinated Organics Business told us:

We surveyed the people who come to our Web site to determine what they really need. We used their feedback to make our site the most complete, helpful and informative place on the Web for professionals who require information about these products.

The redesigned Web site provides businesses, institutions, researchers, and other inquirers throughout the world with access to the full range of Dow's information on these products, services, resources, and business contacts.

In addition, the latest versions of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSS) on many of Dow's products are available for downloading. Article reprints, safety posters, and the widely respected product stewardship manual are also included at the site, and much of this literature is also available in a variety of languages.
