Powder processing specialist British Rema launched its new AJ Minisplit air microniser at the recent Powtech 2001 exhibition in Germany.
The AJ Minisplit is said to combine the dual functions of jet milling and classification in one highly efficient machine. British Rema also exhibited its CLM 35 classifier mill at Powtech (Plate 7).

Managing director Chris Bird said:
The new machine uses the very latest engineering technology to provide exceptional performance. We are expecting a high level of interest because of its dual capabilities and compact design.
The new machine is manufactured from stainless steel and is used to produce various sizes of micronised or classified particles. It is also ideal for use in the processing of speciality chemicals, where a sterile operation is essential.
The AJ Minisplit is described as designed for the grinding of superfine and specialist materials, where high purity products are required, without the risk of contamination.
Already said to be popular within the powder processing industry, the CLM 35 classifier mill also offers a dual function with two-stage grinding and integral inter-stage classification.
Its design provides two distinct grinding sections, one for raw feed and the other for semi-ground material returned by the classifier, which requires a higher grinding intensity. This reportedly provides improved grinding efficiency and overcomes the limitations of conventional units in which both feed and oversize returns are ground in a single operation.
