Cray Valley opens Gel Coat factory in Spain

Cray Valley, the Resins Division of Atofina, the chemical branch of the TotalFinaElf Group, reports the opening its new gel coat factory in Spain, situated at their existing unsaturated polyester resin facility in Miranda de Ebro.

The Polycor product range, which originates from Cray Valley's sister company, Cook Composites & Polymers in the US, will be manufactured at the new Miranda plant.

This is Cray Valley's third gel coat factory in Europe. It is designed to have an initial capacity of 2,000 which will be later increased to 3,000tpa in line with the company's existing plants in France and the UK.

The new factory will serve customers mainly in Spain and Portugal, consolidating Cray Valley's position in the unsaturated polyester resins market.

The Miranda plant will offer improved service for pigmented gel coats delivered in any colour or quantity above 20kg.
