It is reported that the UK government and industry backed Training Alliance for Surface Coatings (TASC) have launched a new on-line training programme on surface coatings technology, consisting of over 50 ten-hour modules for companies and people at all levels throughout the coatings and printing inks industry and supply chain.

The Web-based programme is supported by a team of tutors throughout the UK, available either on-line or on the telephone. Students can select the right programme for their needs, and a CD-ROM provides underpinning support material – all based on the highly successful text-based Open Tech scheme devised and operated by the British Coatings Federation.

UK Minister for Competitiveness, Alan Johnson, has hailed the new scheme as having huge potential for development of the workforce and the competitiveness of the coatings and printing inks industries.
