MOCAP reports that it is slashing powder coating preparation times and costs with the launch of a total solution parts and product protection capability.

The company informs us that it has completed an investment programme enabling in-house production of all standard and custom heat resistant tapes, caps and plugs - allowing coaters to choose tailored, quick-fit-and-remove solutions that mean major savings.

The investment programme is said to bristle with product and service innovation, including a materials range embracing HT201 high temperature vinyl and EHTSi heat stabilised rubber; the option of disposable or reusable aids; and advanced design and manufacturing systems capable of meeting the most complex of shape requirements.

"MOCAP now has an in-house capability that allows us to respond quickly to any masking need from a powder coating industry that is our No.1 market", says MOCAP Masking Products specialist, Claire Mander.

One of the latest developments has been an upgraded tapes production line that enables non- standard shapes and sizes to be manufactured quickly from a customer drawing, specification or marked up component.

And recent additions to the caps and plugs portfolio have been original, reusable, flanged designs that are said to prohibit their misuse and provide excellent seals during powder coating.

Produced in heat stabilised rubber, the MOCAP flange caps and plugs are believed to be capable of withstanding consistent temperatures of up to 280°C - well above the requirement for powder coating.

Easy fitting and removal is believed to be the key to the MOCAP total solution, timesaving strategy. The flanged plug is said to be designed for one-size, one sided insertion only for placement accuracy, with a tab provided for easier handling.

Vinyl pull-cap and masking tape shapes with lift-off protruding tabs and easy release backing also feature in a MOCAP product line-up that extends to custom and standard suspension hooks and jigs.
