Keywords Millennium Inorganic Chemicals, Hanwha Corporation, Mergers and acquisitions

Millennium Inorganic Chemicals Inc. (MIC) has completed negotiations for the purchase of the advanced ceramics business of the Hanwha Corporation of South Korea. Located at Rockingham, near Perth, in Western Australia, Hanwha currently employees 20 people. The Rockingham facility includes production, technical and marketing resources and has a broad product line based on zirconium chemistry.

The new operations will be integrated into Millennium Performance Chemicals, the business unit of MIC responsible for manufacture and sales of ultrafine TiO, titanium tetrachloride and zirconium products. The additional zirconium chemicals business and a customer base in Asia Pacific will complement the current business based in Thann, France.
