Dr Alan Harrison has been appointed managing director of Becker Powder Coatings Ltd. After acquiring his PhD in chemistry from the University of Durham, Alan joined the Courtaulds Group, working initially on coil coatings. This was followed by eight years developing Courtauld's powder coatings business, nationally and internationally. During this time Alan published several papers on post-formable powder coatings, particularly in relation to applying powder coatings to coil. For the past six years, Alan has been managing director of Acordis (previously Courtaulds) Speciality Fibres.
