Meeting coatings demand

Keywords: Plascoat, Re-organization

Plascoat reports that it has engaged in the re-organization of its European manufacturing and distribution operations, in readiness for a major new products drive - broadening its finishing capability and international market penetration.

Plascoat's headquarters operation at Farnham, Surrey, will focus on the production of the PPA (Performance Polymer Alloy) series and Talisman polyolefin materials developed at its research and development centre. The centre is currently engaged in the final stages of development of a series of new coating materials to be launched during the course of 2000.

Meanwhile, Plascoat's complex at Zuidland, near Rotterdam, is to be expanded. New capacity is also being established at Zuidland, as Plascoat concentrates its size reduction, custom grinding and compounding operations near its main customer base for those services. While that has meant the recent closure of its facility at Stokesley in Cleveland, a complementary grinding capability at Padiham, Lancashire, is being maintained.

From Zuidland, Plascoat will serve the whole of the European continent through an increased sales and administration team, a direct presence in Germany and a comprehensive network of specialist agents. While from Farnham, Plascoat will address most of the wider international market, supported by a centre in the USA.
