High efficiency insulating resins

High efficiency insulating resins

Moving from the esoteric to the rather more mundane resin systems (but nevertheless important), we note that Trimite Ltd of Uxbridge has brought out a specially formulated range of "Dolphon" electrical insulating resins and varnishes that are solvent-free to eliminate voids, thereby ensuring optimum insulation efficiency. The other advantage of being solvent-free, of course, is that the products comply fully with the latest EU and US regulations on VOC emissions.

They are manufactured from a variety of epoxy, polyester, polybutadience and urethane resins, developed specifically for electrical and electronics OEM and repair applications. The range includes a wide selection of air drying or quick thermosetting one- and two-pack products. It also includes rigid, semi-rigid and flexible compounds, which cover all typical insulation, encapsulation, bonding, sealing and potting applications, for the protection of PCBs, electric motors, transformers and other electronic components from moisture, hazardous environments or physical shock. Products are also available for high heat dissipation to reduce the operating temperature of specific components.
