High quality mixing with short cycle times is ensured with the conical rotating tank mixers from Lazareth International it is claimed (see Plate 6). The result of many years of research by the French company, MCT mixers are ideal for a wide range of applications. Their design avoids damage to delicate components and prevents segregation.

The patented mixers have tanks with capacities of up to 15,000 litres overall, which provides a working volume of around 10,000 litres. The rotation and handling of such a large volume (being able to hold over 10 tonnes of mixture) is carried out as easily as standard mixers with capacities of only 1,000 or 2,000 litres.

Mixing is performed by two Archimedean screws, one centrally located and one tangential. This ensures that the powders are in constant motion, and the combined rotation of the screws and the tank produces a fully homogeneous mix, regardless of differences in density or particle size.

The range offers working capacities of between 50 litres and 10,000 litres, and can operate at 15 per cent to 100 per cent of total load. Handling large volumes imposes severe technical demands, but MCT mixers produce batches of similar quality to that from small mixers.

Suitable for use with all types of products (powders and pastes), MCT mixers are available in steel or stainless steel.
