With over 91% of women aged 16-64 in the UK not getting sufficient iron from their diet, it is not surprising that iron deficiency in women is not uncommon. Iron is an essential mineral for the human body, required to transport oxygen around the body and support energy release. Iron also plays a key role in helping to maintain a healthy immune system and sustain concentration levels. Initial iron deficiency symptoms can include fatigue, general lack of energy and decreased ability to concentrate.
