This was an enormous exhibition on foods and products of all types and was complemented by a conference and workshops. There were 3,800 exhibitors and pavilions from all around the world presenting countless new launches and services across 19 product-packed halls.

It was fascinating to see a whole range of various products and also real business being done as people selected such stable foods as rice and pulses.

There were Gulfood Premiere pavilions from Armenia, Bangladesh, Ethopia, Luxemburg, Malta, Morocco, Norway, Palestine, Seychelles, Sweden, Ukraine and Vietnam.

There were the global superstar and industry heavyweight industry brands including Tetra Pak, Savola, Du Pont, Masafi and hundreds more.

There were also a range of the leading distributors including Greenhouse, Truebell, La Marquise, Chef Middle East, Transmed and hundreds more.

The accompanying conference was entitled “Global trends, regional opportunities”. This world-class learning programme had been developed with the simple and straightforward mission – to help build a more profitable business.

For anyone in the business of food, hospitality, foodservice, import/export, this was a chance to find out what is happening between plant and plate, to understand the changing dynamic between product and consumer, explore new markets and research new opportunities.

Meet the experts with the captains of industry, the analysts and visionaries shaping the business and marketing strategies that defined the Middle East and wider region in 2011 and beyond included a number of keynote speakers from the food, beverage and hospitality industry such as:

  1. 1.
