There are many new developments that have occurred at MEND during the past year such as the following:

  • 2007 sees rapid expansion in MEND;

  • cost of MEND Programme reduces significantly;

  • local agencies are excited about the way that MEND helps them delivery against a myriad of government targets and policies;

  • MEND's standardised format and OMMS allows for continued rapid growth;

  • MEND's one day obesity awareness training made much more practical;

  • launch of Mini-MEND: giving all toddlers a healthy start in life;

  • continuous improvement and best practice conferences/awards;

  • completion of MEND's RCT and agreement of 20-year research partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and the Institute of Child Health, University College, London;

  • MEND places strong emphasis on graduate sustainability;

  • MEND is committed to working in partnership with other organisations to tackle obesity;

  • MEND is a finalist in the Schwab Foundation's Social Entrepreneur of the year 2007 award.
