Kenwood commits to reform school cookery

With a 60-year heritage that has transformed home cooking, Kenwood is hoping to have the same impact on cooking among Britain's primary school children. The company has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with British Food Fortnight, and is developing an online resource for teachers, which the company hopes will play an important part in developing the role of food preparation and cooking in schools.

Now in its sixth year, British Food Fortnight (22 September to 7 October 2007) is the biggest national celebration of the diverse and delicious range of food that Britain produces. In its first year of sponsorship, Kenwood will primarily focus on getting primary school children excited about food, food preparation and cooking via a national "Cook For Life" Challenge, a competition run by BFF which was open to all primary school children across the UK.
