Food Counts

25 March 2004, BDA Centre for Education and Develpoment, Birmingham

Food Counts is the expert specialist group of the British Dietetic Association for those dietitians with a special interest in food in care settings. There is a focus on food provision, sharing good practice, collaborating, communicating, setting standards and guidelines, creating positive relationships, supporting and educating.

The study day had a theme of working in partnership with others involved in the food provision sector.

The day included presentations on:

  • menu analysis;

  • a caterer’s perspective;

  • developing specifications;

  • working through guidelines; and

  • meals on wheels.

The Food Counts activities can be viewed along with those of members of the British Dietetic Association by visiting the Web site: www.bda.uk.com
