The Advisory Body for Social Services Catering – Midlands Region was held on 15 January 2003 at the Department of Hospitality, Worcester College of Technology

Phil Myers of the Food Standards Agency Wales discussed the role of the agency. The role of the FSA was summarised’as:

  • to determine what people actually eat;

  • to recommend what people should eat for a balanced diet; and

  • to support people's choice of food.

A presentation on establishing qualifications for the hospitality and catering sector was also discussed in detail.

The meeting also allowed time for a group discussion.
