New slicer/butterer for baguettes

Now, for the first time, producers of filled baguettes can accurately slice and butter baguettes automatically in one operation. A new machine developed by Rutland Handling Limited achieves a through-put of approximately 30 baguettes per minute. An operator places the unsliced baguettes on to a conveyor, which automatically guides them into a cutting unit. The baguette then passes through a plough blade, which opens and flattens it, and the opened baguette is conveyed directly to the buttering unit where butter is automatically applied to both halves.
