UK drinks in Spain
According to the latest market figures available from Food from Britain, UK companies are the biggest suppliers of drinks to Spain, providing Spain with nearly one half of its imports of alcoholic and soft drinks, worth £289 million in 1998. Not only do the Spanish prefer Scotch whisky to its own brandy but they also like English beer, gin, vodka, and Drambuie from the Scotland. Soft drinks from the UK are also very popular. Not only drinks, but also regional territorial cheeses, fish and seafood, Welsh lamb and beef, potatoes and convenience foods, such as pizza and prepared desserts, have been exhibited at the premier food and drink exhibition in Spain.
