Health facts for children on the Net

As part of the Government's Healthy Schools Programme, a new health information Web site has been established for pupils aged 11 to 14. The LifeBytes Web site is available at: www.lifebytes.gov.uk. It uses cartoon characters, interactive quizzes and brightly coloured graphics to give up-to-date information of a wide variety of health topics including accidents, smoking and mental health. LifeBytes links to at least 100 other health related Web sites and gives information on health conditions including acne, sickle cells, asthma and diabetes. The site has been developed by the Health Education Authority and all the Web sites linked have been checked to ensure they contain appropriate and relevant information for 11 to 14 year olds.
