This is in addition to the £53 million allocated to health authorities to support existing drugs prevention schemes. The Department of Health is also advertising to boost young people's awareness of the National Drugs Helpline. This offers 24-hour confidential help, information and support to anyone concerned about drug and solvent abuse directing them to local specialist drug agencies of appropriate. The helpline takes over 400,000 calls a year and the number to call is: 0800 77 66 00.
