I am pleased to announce that Multidiscipline Modeling in Materials and Structures (MMMS) has transferred to Emerald Group Publishing Limited, effective from Vol 6 No. 1, 2010, and will enter a completely new period.
Meanwhile, some new features are included, and they are:

In order to enhance the experience of authors, editors, and reviewers, and make the whole process quicker and more transparent, ScholarOne Manuscripts will be used to manage the submission and peer-review. The updated instructions to authors at system will give the details of journal style, format, and content. Please see more details for authors through http://info.emeraldinsight.com/authors.

A new column, Book Reviews, will be launched to give reviews of publications presenting prominent techniques as well as latest progress in this field. We are pleased to invite Dr Zishun Liu, at the Institute of High Performance Computing, Singapore, to serve as the Book Review Editor.
The journal MMMS will continue to provide an international platform for the publication of theoretical, experimental, and numerical studies related to the multidisciplinary design optimization, multiscale modeling, and structure-mechanical relationship of materials at all length scales down to nanostructures. I hope these changes will be more helpful for the rapid exchange of ideas and techniques in this field.
Once more, I would like to thank our authors, reviewers, and editors for the time and effort. I am most grateful to Dr Harry Colson and Ms Rosemary Dewey for their support on the journal.
