Rutronik: octagonal design of the SIM-Connector from Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics offers more space
Article Type: New products From: Microelectronics International, Volume 25, Issue 2.
The new shape of the SIM-Connector offers more than 17 per cent more space on the PCB compared to rectangular versions. Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics has expanded its product range by introducing the flat octagonal BRIDGEBLOCK SIM Connector. The new connector is available at Rutronik now.
The connector features a low profile height of 2.0mm; minimized surface area for very compact designs, optimized card guidance and a small footprint. The space saved on the PCB due to octagonal design can be used for additional components. The connector is assembled on the circuit board by SMD-technology, and meets highest co-planarity standards.
The BRIDGEBLOCK meets the requirements of RoHS and WEEE. The tape-and-reel packaging is suitable for automatic assembly using the pick- and-place process.
The new BRIDGEBLOCK is tailor- made for use in mobile phones, smart phones, GSM-modules, POS terminals, and similar applications. Amphenol- Tuchel Electronics is a manufacturer of Smart Card connectors for GSM mobile phones.
