Message from the Associate Editor

It is doubtful if anything gives an editor more pleasure than providing the news to the readers that the reader wants to read. The way some people flick through magazines is terrifying; they either have no time or can only handle pictures. But I know that you, the reader of MI, have devoted time to read this issue, and the only pictures you might be interested in are more cerebral than convivial.

As the new Associate Editor it is my aim to bring you, a more interesting journal once you have gone past the technical papers. For this I do ask for your help. Much as I might trawl optimistically through the many press releases that are sent to me, I still need those items of news about people and products, places and plans, events and enjoyments that makes for a good read.

In an industry that is only now beginning to see the beginning of the end of the end, any news about you and your company would be warmly welcomed. I amicably encourage you to send me anything that you think might be of interest. Chances are it will be.
