Keywords: IMAPS, Marketing

The Microelectronics Marketing Research Council (MMRC) has announced a free-of-charge marketing forum at IMAPS 2002 in Denver. All show attendees, exhibitors, and students are invited to attend the forum. The Marketing Forum will be held on Wednesday afternoon, September 4, 2002, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Colorado Convention Center. At the forum, speakers will discuss their analyses and insights into various current technologies and emerging markets of interest. Some of these technologies include Integrated Passive Devices, LTCC, Automotive Electronics, and Optoelectronics.

IMAPS 2002, The 35th International Symposium on Microelectronics is scheduled for September 4-6, 2002 at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver, Colorado, USA.

The Forum will feature four presentations with a panel discussion at the end that will encourage audience participation. Various segments of the microelectronics industry are re-establishing their growth models as the economy emerges from recession. This session will help clarify the direction of key markets and technologies that were previously perceived as "hot", but in 2001 were "not". Question that will be discussed include the following: are we still placing the right bets with our development efforts? Is growth expected this year, next year, or in five years? Which industry groups are growing? What is now driving demand after the roller coaster ride of Y2K issue, a red-hot economy in 2000, and the recession of 2001? These questions and more will be addressed.
