W.C. Heraeus GmbH & Co. KG has acquired PGP Industries, the US-American precious metal recycling company headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California. As one of the world's leading reprocessors of precious metals W.C. Heraeus greatly strengthens, with this deal, its presence in the North American market and its global reach in the recovery of precious metals and manufacture of products containing precious metals.

The acquired company will trade under the new name of Heraeus Metal Processing from its existing locations in Santa Fe Springs, CA, Coalfield, TN, Duncan, SC, Waterbury, CT and Shannon, Ireland. The existing precious metal processing activities and the recycling carried out by PGP in the areas of platinum group metals and silver are to be considerably expanded. The expertise and know-how obtained by W.C. Heraeus through years of R&D activities will flow directly into the new company and expand its global reach.
