Maximilian Huber (see Plate 1) will take over responsibility for Europe as Head of Sharp Microelectronics Division in Hamburg.

Maximilian Huber has been appointed as Division General Manager at Sharp Microelectronics Division (MED) in Hamburg as of July. With this move, the Japanese company now puts a strong emphasis on Europe in the electronic components business after conferring the leadership of the entire Hamburg central office to a European for the first time last year. Microelectronics is the company division that yields the highest sales figures around the globe.

Maximilian Huber, who has a degree in electro-physics, spent many years with Siemens Semiconductors in Munich and was responsible for direct sales, system engineering and systems architecture. His last assignment was Senior Vice President CE Solutions. In the future, he is going to lead Sharp's entire European business in electronic components.

Maximilian Huber sees his main task in shortening the distance to European customers and offering more technical services. A focus is laid on the segments: communications, automotive and industrial applications.
