Keywords MRSI, Encapsulation, Dispensing

MRSI has enhanced the performance of its leading dispense systems with the addition of a built-in calibration scale. Typical applications include encapsulation and underfill. Activated as part of user selected, routine system calibration, the scale precisely measures the mass of a series of dispense shots. Dispensed fluid mass is correlated to fluid volume. Parameter updates are applied to the dual-LPD linear positive displacement pump.

"Accurate process control of dispensed mass is critical to achieving consistent production control in any encapsulation process" explains sales engineer Glenn Wyllie. "The built-in scale automatically updates pump parameters and provides the user with data for SPC analysis." The built-in calibration scale comes with the MRSI-175 encore encapsulation system (Plate 4). Other Encore system features include a variety of rotary pumps, closed-loop cartridge heat, needle heat, and work surface heat, and dual lane parallel processing conveyors.
