Heraeus Materials, the thick film division of W.C. Heraeus GmbH, has been awarded Preferred Supplier status by the Microcircuits division of C-MAC Industries.

This agreement authorises Heraeus to supply advanced ceramic materials technology, including thick film pastes and related products, to C-MAC for the production of high-performance hybrid microcircuits. The supply partnership also extends to development initiatives allowing C-MAC to benefit from the extensive capabilities of Heraeus' advanced products, such as KQ advanced microelectronics materials technology and Heratapeª LTCC materials technology, enabling technologies for wireless, automotive and other microelectronic applications.

"As C-MAC undergoes a complex re-evaluation of its materials and supply base, Heraeus has been successful in achieving a preferred supplier status after successfully concluding a series of qualifications and negotiations", explains John Naismith, vice president of procurement for C-MAC. "C-MAC and Heraeus share a commitment to serve the global marketplace by providing advanced ceramic based microelectronic solutions to challenging new applications."

"This is an exciting opportunity for Heraeus to work with one of the world's leading suppliers of hybrid circuits, and to share a leadership role in the development and use of new technologies," said Quentin Reynolds, technical manager at Heraeus. "As we fast approach a new millennium new and better ways are necessary to succeed, and we believe this association will create solutions that will work to our mutual benefit."
