ISHM Germany '98 and IMAPS Germany '99

Last year, ISHM Germany held its annual general meeting on 12-13 October at the Technische Universität in Munich, where it also celebrated its 25th anniversary. The meeting and the gala dinner were attended by about 180 delegates. Dr Thiel, one of the founder members of ISHM Germany, and ten other associates, including Manfred Kunath and Günter Forster were made honorary members. Among the distinguished speakers who made presentations were Mr Paulo Werle, of Siemens, and Professor Herbert Reichle, of the Fraunhofer-Institute and the IZM-TU Berlin.

At the meeting, the ISHM committee decided to change the name of the organisation from ISHM Deutschland to IMAPS Germany, starting in 1999.
