Custom Silicon Configuration Services (CS2), set up two months ago to provide packaging and assembly services to European semiconductor manufacturers, has announced two further senior appointments.
Frank Huysmans joins the new company as director of sales and marketing. Previously Business development manager at Nordson Electronics Business Group, he brings considerable experience of all aspects of manufacturing, process development, quality control and market analysis. He has also held senior posts with Asymtek, Bercom and Philips Consumer Electronics.
Dr Shankara Prasad has also signed up with CS2 as director of engineering and technology development (Plate 1). Dr Prasad has, until recently, managed his own company, APT International, which has focused on developing interactive multimedia reference and educational modules for the microelectronics industry. Dr Prasad's training programs and seminars have been widely recognized throughout the world by numerous companies. IEEE has recently recognized Dr Prasad's contribution to both academia and industry by awarding him the 1998 Major Education and Innovation Award. He is the current chairman of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS), India Chapter, and has previously worked for Intel, Cypress Semiconductor and Robert Bosch GmbH in a variety of technical positions.
