The forestry sector can be transformed from a net emissions source to a net carbon sink by 2020, with no food and material shortages and few sacrifices, according to the first part of a report published by environmental group WWF.

Rebalancing consumption patterns and creating market incentives are two of five ways to do this, it claims. Policymakers should implement responsible sourcing and investment policies that reward producers who meet the required standards.
