Article Type: News From: Management of Environmental Quality: An International Journal, Volume 21, Issue 5
The European Commission has announced €35m funding in 2010 for eco-innovation projects aimed at reducing industry’s ecological footprint under the EU’s Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP).
The funds, which will cover up to 50 per cent of costs, are aimed at projects in the recycling, sustainable building, food and drink and green business sectors, particularly SMEs that have developed a product or service they have been unable to bring to the market. Fifty new projects are expected to benefit from the funding. The call for proposals is open to all financially solvent companies in the EU, EEA and accession countries. The CIP programme has a total budget of about €200m for the period 2008-2013.
